Bilawal Bhutto meets US Secretary of State, wants better relations with Pakistan

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called on his US counterpart Anthony Blinken.
The two foreign ministers met Wednesday at the United Nations headquarters in New York, according to a statement from the State Department.
The US Secretary of State said that strong trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States would be discussed.

He said talks on regional security were also included in the meeting. Pakistan is leading the G77, the United States wants better relations.
Anthony Blinken said he was happy to work with the Pakistani government and Bilawal Bhutto. They will talk about food security, a major challenge facing the world.

“After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the issue of food security has become very serious. Another 40 million people suffered from food security problems. We are coming together to address the issue of food security. We are grateful for Pakistan’s participation in the efforts to take concrete steps to address this issue.
The Secretary of State added that “the focus is on strengthening bilateral economic and trade ties and on regional security.”
On the occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Pakistan and the United States are willing to work together to improve trade relations. Looking forward to the opportunities to enhance relations between Pakistan and the United States.

He said that countries like Pakistan are facing challenges of law and order, safe energy and water security. We are facing many issues in the neighboring countries ranging from climate change.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
He called for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
It should be noted that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is leading the Pakistani delegation in a meeting on global food security in New York.

The meeting, convened by US Secretary of State Anthony Blankenship, is aimed at examining and curbing rising food prices around the world following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
