Sexual assault complaint: Sri Lankan cricketer arrested in Sydney

Tanushka Gunathilaka, a cricketer for Sri Lanka, was detained in Sydney following a report of a sexual assault. Young cricketer Dhanushka Gunathilaka, who was competing for Australia in the T20 World Cup, was detained and transported to the Sydney Police Station. Early on Sunday morning, Indian time, everything took place.


Tanushka was detained on November 2 after allegedly abusing a lady sexually. Except for Danushka, the Sri Lankan squad thereafter left Australia. After losing against England, the Sri Lankan squad was disqualified from the series. The team has now departed Australia as a result.


In the current series against Namibia, catcher Dhanushka Gunathilaka was bowled out for a score of zero. Dhanushka was later had to withdraw owing to injury as Sri Lanka advanced to the Super 12 round. He was detained in this instance for a sexual assault.


His arrest was reported by the New South Wales Police on their website. However, it merely states that he is from Sri Lanka and leaves out his name. Additionally, "A 31-year-old Sri Lankan man has been detained in connection with the sexual assault of a 29-year-old lady at her Rose Bay residence in Sydney last week.


In this case, a complaint has been made that this brutal incident occurred on the evening of November 2. It has been said that the special police are conducting investigations at the crime scene.
